The Nigeria Labour Congress has outlined six conditions that the federal government must meet to end the ongoing nationwide strike.

In a post on Tuesday evening via its official X account, the NLC stated that it demands the arrest and prosecution of Mr. Chinasa Nwaneri, the Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who is alleged to have led the attack on workers during the NLC protest against the alleged maltreatment of workers in the state.

The NLC also demanded the arrest, prosecution, and dismissal of all police officers involved in the brutalization of its president, Joe Ajaero, and other workers in Imo State. Additionally, the union called for the arrest and prosecution of all thugs who attacked Ajaero and other workers during the protest.

Furthermore, the NLC demanded the arrest, prosecution, and dismissal of the Chief Security Officer of the Imo State Government House, SP Shaba, who is alleged to have led, participated in, and provided cover for the thugs who brutalized workers in the state.
