Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has responded to online body-shaming with a bold initiative promoting self-confidence.
Following the circulation of an unflattering gym photo that sparked criticism about her appearance, particularly targeting her stomach, the actress chose to turn the moment into a celebration of body positivity.
Rather than shrinking under the weight of public scrutiny, she embraced the attention and used it as an opportunity to uplift others.
In an Instagram post, she unveiled the Big Belle Challenge, a contest aimed at encouraging women to be unapologetically proud of their bodies.
According to her, the challenge is open to women willing to confidently showcase their stomachs.
Participants are required to post photos of their bellies, tag her in the post, and use the hashtag #bigbellechallenge.
The three most notable entries will be reposted on her page, and from there, a final winner will be selected.
To further encourage participation, Nkechi announced a cash prize of ₦1 million for the winner.
She wrote: “₦1 million to the winner, Big belle challenge is here courtesy my Brother @proactive105mann … The person with the biggest belly takes it all.”
The initiative has since gained attention online, with many commending the actress for shifting the narrative and empowering women to take pride in their bodies, regardless of societal expectations.
