Nine people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road accident in Kyaramma village, Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

According to the Jigawa State Police Command, the accident occurred around 2 p.m. on Saturday and involved two Golf 3 saloon vehicles.

The crash left multiple individuals injured, prompting an immediate emergency response.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Shiisu Adam, revealed that one of the vehicles, bearing registration number Kaduna MKA 687 AY, was driven by 35-year-old Adamu Sunusi, a resident of Hadejia LGA.

He was reportedly traveling from Abuja to Gujungu town when the incident occurred.

Preliminary findings suggest that the collision happened when one of the drivers lost control, resulting in a head-on crash that forced both cars off the road.

“Eleven passengers are currently receiving treatment at the hospital and are responding positively. Efforts are underway to identify all victims and notify their families,” the statement added.
