The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecasted thunderstorms and rainy weather from Monday to Wednesday across Nigeria.
In a weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms on Monday for parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna States. Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected in Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa states.
“In the North Central region, rains are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, and Nasarawa states during the morning hours,” the outlook stated. “Later in the day, thunderstorms and rains are anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi States.”
For the southern region, morning drizzle and rains are predicted in Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River. Intermittent rains are expected in the afternoon and evening across the entire southern region.
On Tuesday, NiMet forecasted morning thunderstorms over Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa states. Thunderstorms are also expected in these areas later in the day.

Later in the day, thunderstorms and rains are anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States.”
Morning rains are anticipated in Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states, with thunderstorms and intermittent rains in the afternoon and evening across the entire southern region.
For Wednesday, NiMet forecasted morning thunderstorms in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, with thunderstorms expected in the entire region later in the day.
“In the North Central region, rains are anticipated over Niger and Kwara States during the morning hours. Later in the day, thunderstorms and rains are anticipated over parts of Plateau, Nasarawa, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States,” NiMet stated.
Morning rains are predicted for Cross River and Akwa Ibom states, with intermittent rains in the afternoon and evening across the entire southern region.
