NiMet predicts sunny, hazy weather across Nigeria
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a weather forecast indicating that the country will experience sunny and hazy atmospheric conditions from Friday to Sunday.
The forecast, released on Thursday in Abuja, highlights various regional expectations during the specified period.
According to NiMet, the northern region is likely to witness slight dust haze on Friday, with a continuation of sunny and hazy conditions expected over the North Central region throughout the forecast period.
In the South, inland cities can anticipate sunny skies interspersed with patches of clouds in a hazy atmosphere.
NiMet also anticipates the possibility of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Edo, Ondo, Lagos, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa states during the afternoon and evening periods in coastal cities of the South.
The agency provided specific details for Saturday’s forecast, stating, “Few patches of clouds in a hazy atmosphere are expected over the inland cities of the South and coastal belt with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun and Lagos State in the morning hours.”
NiMet further notes the likelihood of isolated thunderstorms over various states, including Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Rivers, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Delta, during the afternoon and evening periods on Saturday.
