NIMC promotes 523 staff, urges integrity, commitment to NIN project

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has approved the promotion of 523 staff members as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The promotions form part of the statutory performance reward system for employees who met the criteria outlined in the Public Service Rules during the 2025 promotion cycle.

In a post on NIMC’s X handle by the agency’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, the commission detailed the promotions, stating: “The promotion saw two staff members elevated to the Director cadre (GL 17), eight to Deputy Director (GL 16), and 35 to Assistant Director (GL 15).

“Additionally, thirty-five staff were promoted to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14), 109 to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13), 113 to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and 130 to Identity Officer 1 (GL 9).”

In her remarks, Coker-Odusote congratulated the promoted staff and encouraged them to see the advancement as an opportunity to serve the nation more effectively. She reiterated NIMC’s zero-tolerance stance on extortion, cautioning staff against engaging in corrupt practices.

The DG also urged all employees to work diligently in 2026 to ensure the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project, while reaffirming her commitment to staff welfare and the dignity of labour.
