Nigeria’s Nse Uko clinches 400m gold at U-20 World Championships

Nigeria’s Imaobong Nse Uko came first in the final of the women’s 400m event at the ongoing World Athletics U-20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.

Uko claimed the gold by bursting through the finish line ahead of her opponents to with a personal best of 51.55secs.

The17-year-old has now extended her record as the fastest U-18 athlete in the world in 2021.

Uko came from behind to beat Poland’s Kornelia Lesiewicz to second position in a time of 51.97, homegirl Sylvia Chelangat of Kenya finished 3rd in a time of 52.23secs.
