Nigeria’s Dennis hands Watford first win under Hodgson
Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Dennis, scored a powerful header to hand Watford a much-needed 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
Dennis’ 78th-minute winner sunk Steven Gerrard’s Villans, handing manager, Roy Hodgson, his first victory since taking over from Claudio Raineri in January.
The Nigerian’s winner marked an end to Watford’s four-game goal drought.
The Hornets are also winning for the first time since their stunning 4-1 win over Manchester United on November 20.
Hodgson’s side have now moved up to 18th on the Premier League table, four points off safety, in their quest to avoid relegation.
