Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi sealed an emphatic win for Arsenal in the English Premier League as the Gunners rose to the top of the summit in England.
Iwobi, who recently scored his first Uefa Champions League goal against Basel in the club’s 4-1 demolition of the Swiss side, hit the bull’s eyes with the club’s third goal in a comfortable 3-1 win over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium.
The 20-year-old forward’s meteoric rise in English football has taken many football pundits and followers by storm as he has already chalked up about 18 appearances for the London club this season alone.
His recent goal drought already raised concerns and his subsequent drop to the bench following Aaron Ramsey’s recovery also made many think Arsene Wenger may have lost confidence in the youngster.
But the recent goalscoring exploits – two in two – may have restored his manager’s trust in the nephew to legendary Nigerian football maestro, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.
