Facebook founder and the 7th richest person in the world, Mark Zuckerberg arrived Nigeria on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
The visit is his first ever trip to Nigeria and the Sub-Saharan Africa.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “Lagos! This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I’ll be meeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about the startup ecosystem in Nigeria. The energy here is amazing and I’m excited to learn as much as I can.
“Our first stop is the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) in Yaba. I got to talk to kids at a summer coding camp and entrepreneurs who come to CcHub to build and launch their apps. I’m looking forward to meeting more people here!”
Since photos of his presence in Nigeria emerged on the internet, there have been mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media. While some believe he came in like biblical ‘thief in the night’, others say his coming was not announced prior to his arrival because of security reason.

A well planned visit by a Mark Zuckerberg to Nigeria. You have to give it to the US Embassy and the CC HUB guys for the sealed lips.
