Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, on Wednesday, inaugurated the board of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency.
This was made known in a pictures shared on Nairaland forum by one of its numerous users.
Governor Ambode said the gesture is in line with commitment towards the safety of lives and properties in the state.
However, the Governor’s kind gesture might not have been widely accepted by residents as some of them are skeptical of what might become of these young safety corps agents.

ArabMopol(m): Ambode has inaugurate another intimidating taskforce…. I hope they will tackle those useless agberos roaming around lasgidi
jumpandpas(m): Another wahala don come.
thesicilian: I don’t understand this new type of vigilante o. Let me get more info first sha before I’ll comment properly.
matrixme(m): Smartly dressed young people without weapons against ruthless, blood thirsty thugs. Do we really have to do this in this modern age, LASG??
doctokwus: Another agency to increase impunity. There is lastma kai and now this.Lg touts with their own uniforms av also become laws unto themselves. Rubbish, watch as this new set become nuisances in neighbourhoods soon because they wud start competing with policemen on powers of arrest, detention and torture. Wont be surprised if they soon av prisons in neighbourhoods they operate.
jeeqaa7(m): agbero and omo onile don get uniform
orjikuramo(m): Lemme just be looking but don’t be fooled, these ones can do nothing than to join the long list of individuals that believe they are superior to ordinary or bloody civilians. Not even sure these guys will survive the cultists enshrined areas like ikorodu, agege n co, last last, they will either join agberos or become useless. Nice uniform anyway, *the guy didn’t want is face online (I sincerely understand)
Maximus85(m): Will criminals be scared of these neighborhood cops?
Princelegacylemoha(m): Very Nice initiative. But Without Arms how will they survive Agbero and notorious gangs. If they don’t have arms , they should better not wear uniform. Let them act as secret service and in formats. To either mobile police , Military or the Para Military.
Dramadiddy(m): hope these people have tazers or what do they call it.. unless all these A.J boys go mess them up
RichDad1(m): I hope those old Baba’s in the neighborhood watch won’t get sidelined from this sha.
