‘Nigerians bash, project negative vibes about Nigeria on Twitter just to get popular’

2 Min Read

Earlier today, headlines like “COVID-19: Senegal Develops $1 Test Kits, $60 3D Printed Ventilators To Fight Against Novel Coronavirus” graced various headlines.

Many African nations have hailed the country for being able to achieve such a feat despite its low budget for health.

Senegal, it might surprise you, have recorded the highest recovery rate in Africa so far and the third in the world.

Twitter user, @fimiletoks has, however, called out Nigerians for continuously projecting negative vibes and bashing their country.

Her tweet reads:

“Seems the fastest way to get popular on twitter is to continuously bash Nigeria and project negative vibes. As usual Nigerians have jumped on Senegal’s ventilator new. A young boy in Kaduna with limited resources developed a ventilator in 2 days, we saw it here in (sic)twitter.”

She further stated that long before Senegal unveiled their ventilators and test kits, the;

“Federal Polytechnic Ilaro built a ventilator in 2 days”

She blamed the lack of worldwide recognition of what some Nigerians have been able to achieve to:

“No retweets, no massive support, no press coverage to project his achievement across Africa. Twitter Nigeria shunned him..go and check the TL of Nigerians hailing Senegal, you won’t find the man’s story on any!…”
