Nigerians mourn death of #SaveMayowa, read what they are saying on Twitter
Nigerians, both home and abroad, have been mourning the death of Mayowa Ahmed, who was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian cancer.
Below was how the family of Mayowa announced her death moments ago:
By Allah, in who’s hands our lives is, Mayowa Ahmed has left us in this world. We pray that Jannat becomes her home #RipMayowa

Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu had drawn attention to Mayowa after she solicited funds from Nigerians for her surgery.
About N32million was raised for the deceased through an online campaign which was launched to save the life of the late Mayowa.
Things got messy after reports surfaced online that the campaign was a scam set up by her family.
However, things were later cleared up after her family denied the allegations.
Below are reactions from Nigerians since her death was announced a couple of hours ago:
Stage IV cancer is almost always impossible to fight. There’s nothing that could have been done medically to save her life #RIPMayowa

May be, may be not.. but we could have bought you more time if Linda Ikeji & Toyin Aimahku were sensible and reasonable #RIPMayowa

Linda Ikeji’s gaffe notwithstanding, but having her take the fall for #RIPMayowa is exactly what is expected of doctors on the regular.

I hope nemesis catches up with those two attention seeking idiots; Linda and Toyin. Their madness will soon destroy them. #RIPMayowa

The greatest loss isn’t death, it is what dies inside us while we’re still alive. Mayowa didn’t let the vultures kill her hopes. #RIPMayowa
