President Muhammad Buhari on Friday held a crucial meeting with the 36 state governors of Nigeria at the presidential villa in Abuja.
The meeting was convened to address the security challenges in the country. Also present at the meeting were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and all the service chiefs.
Babagana Monguno, national security adviser; Ahmed Abubakar, director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA); Mohammed Adamu, inspector general of police; and Yusuf Bichi, director general of the Department for State Service (DSS), were also in attendance.

However, in a series of group photos posted by news personality, Buhari Sallau, ex-Zamfara governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was spotted with the other governors.
The development spurred diverse reactions on social media. One @itz_bellojoji said “What’s yari doing in the villa?
Another IG user, identified as @attaheeyru said “This is Old Picture pls. Try to Update recent picture with Dr Bello Matawalle d Current Governor of Zamfara not Dan Makau yari.
One @ahmed_abulabbas said, “Who invited yari to this pic.” @abdulwahabladam also said; “If I was there I will kick Abdlaziz yari out.”
Recall that the Supreme Court had, in a ruling, nullified the victory of the All Progressive Congress in Zamfara state due to the party’s inability to conduct primary elections before the governorship poll.
It was reported that Yari, for “scuttling” the party’s chances during the governorship election in the state.
Sequel to the ruling of the Supreme Court, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bello Matawalle, of the Peoples Democratic Party as the governor of Zamfara state.
