Popular Nigerian TikTok star and livestreamer, Hamzat Habeeb, also known as Peller, is facing mounting public pressure after a car crash in Lagos that occurred during a live broadcast.

The incident happened on Sunday along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where the content creator was seen driving his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz while livestreaming on TikTok. The broadcast, titled “RIP Peller,” showed him in an emotional and distressed state.

Peller was reportedly reacting to the breakdown of his relationship with his girlfriend, Jarvis, also known as Jadrolita. During the livestream, he made several alarming statements before the crash.

“I will use this car and have an accident right now,” he said at one point, adding later, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”

In another moment that shocked viewers, he stated, “If you leave me, people will mock me… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”

Shortly after, the livestream captured him driving off before the car crashed into a stone barrier. Videos that later surfaced online showed bystanders rushing to help him before he was taken to a hospital. The extent of his injuries has not been officially confirmed.

Photos circulating on social media revealed severe damage to the luxury vehicle.

Following the incident, many Nigerians took to social media to demand action from the police and the Federal Road Safety Corps, accusing the TikToker of reckless driving and endangering lives.

UpuuEsq commented, “Peller must now be arrested and tried for attempting to take his life and reckless driving. The FRSC must revoke his driver’s licence immediately.”

Another user, MuhammedOn65277, wrote, “Police and FRSC should do the needful as soon as possible.”

OurFavOnlineDoc said, “I hope Peller is fine, but after medical and mental checks, FRSC and the state government should prosecute him for dangerous driving and using a phone while driving. His licence should be withdrawn.”

Prinxe_B added, “What happened was not a mistake. It was a conscious, irresponsible choice that could have killed other road users.”

Some reactions also focused on mental health, with calls for better support for online influencers facing emotional pressure.

Meanwhile, Jarvis reacted after the crash, saying she had done her best and questioned why she was being blamed for the incident. She asked critics what they expected her to do, noting that people already knew the truth.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released by the Lagos State Police Command or the FRSC. However, the police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said she would provide details after getting a briefing from the Divisional Police Officer in the area.
