Nigerian-born bodybuilder Samson Dauda has made history by winning the 2024 Mr Olympia title, taking home the largest prize ever awarded in the sport.

The event was held at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, USA, as part of the grand finale of the Olympia weekend.

Dauda, who is based in the United Kingdom, beat 15 top athletes who made it to the main stage after the pre-judging rounds. He secured the title, with Iran’s Hadi Choopan finishing in second place and 2023 champion Derek Lunsford slipping to third.

Along with winning the prestigious title, Dauda was also crowned the *People’s Champion*, earning a record-breaking prize of $600,000. This is the largest prize ever given in bodybuilding.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, a former six-time Mr. Olympia winner from 1970 to 1975 and Hollywood star, is a legendary figure in the bodybuilding world. He made a comeback in 1980 to win his seventh title, cementing his legacy in the sport.
