Three Nigerian children have eventually got help after staying for four days with their dead mother.

The Spanish Police said the children, aged five, ten and 11, ventured out onto the street to seek help after trying all they could to wake up their dead mom at their home in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

They approached a council gardener working near their home and said that they hadn’t eaten for days and had been “unable to wanigerian-die-in-spainke” their mother, who was lying in bed.

The children, two boys and a girl, were described as being barely dressed and hungry when they were found. The youngest child fainted as he was being assisted by neighbours who realised the children were in trouble and gave them juice and water and something to eat.

For the time being, the children have been transferred to the University Hospital of Son Espases, where they remain under observation and under medical care, said spanish website elmundo.es.

Authorities suspect that the woman, aged 40, died of ‘natural causes’ in her sleep up to four days ago but are awaiting the results of a post mortem.

The woman has been identified as a Nigerian national and all three of children were born in Spain.
