Gerald, one of the top 10 contestants at the seventh edition of Nigerian Idol, was on Sunday kicked out of the reality show after he failed to make the list of Top 9 candidates.

His elimination was sealed after he fell short of the 14 million votes gathered from fans in the third week of the live shows,

The bulky singer left the show after he spent two weeks and failed to secure a spot in the Top 9 on Sunday night.

While wishing him success in his future endeavour, organisers of the Nigerian Idol show serenaded him via their official Twitter handle, @Nigerianidol.

The statement read, “Gerald’s journey on #NigerianIdol has come to an end. ❤ We wish him well and we are sure he will be on big stages🎹around the world.😍🎶 Get into the comments and drop questions you would like Gerald to answer on his Twitter Space interview. #AskGerald #NigerianIdol.”

On the other hand, Zadok was the MVP of the night.

Zadok, who was the fifth contestant to make it to the Top 9, stole the show and got a standing ovation from the judges with his rendition of Timi Dakola’s song, ‘Wish Me Well.’

As a fan stated, he ate the song and literarily left no crumbs.

In a related development, David Operah, Debby and Faith secured a spot in the Top 9.

Banty was also fortunate to clinch the last spot with a performance that left audience drooling with her amazing rendition of ‘Lean on Me’ by Bill Withers
