Leave our daughters, sisters and mothers alone, Aisha Buhari reacts to recent rape cases

Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has claimed that Aisha Buhari has reportedly separated from her husband the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).

Olunloyo made the disclosure on her Twitter handle on Saturday, claiming that Mrs. Buhari is fed up with being the mother of a Nigeria she can’t protect.

“Sadly Mrs. Aisha Buhari has separated from her husband General Buhari (rtd). Sources tell me that she’s had it up to her throat and so fed up of “being the mother of a nation she cannot protect. She’s the mother of the UAE now,” the tweet read.

Recall that the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, according to ‘SaharaReporters’ relocated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she has been since September after the wedding of her daughter, Hanan and Mohammed Turad.

Mrs. Buhari was previously flown to the Arab country in August after suffering persistent neck pains after returning from a condolence visit to Florence Ajimobi, widow of a former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi who died of COVID-19 complications.

It was reported by Daily Trust that the First Lady was isolated for 14 days after the visit before she eventually travelled to the UAE.

However, SR’s report in December 2020 claimed that Aisha “is not in a hurry to return, despite spending over three months, as she reportedly stated that the Aso Rock Villa was not secure for her family.”

Though it’s now over three months, there has been no sign of the First Lady in the Presidential Villa or the public since she observed the Eid El-Kabir prayers with her family on July 31st 2020.

Her alleged departure to the UAE over insecurity came after a shooting incident at the Villa which occurred in June between her security details and her husband’s.

Reports revealed that the security details of the President’s wife removed Buhari’s Personal Assistant, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, from the place after he refused to embark on a 14-day isolation period upon returning from a trip to Lagos.

The First Lady’s ADC, Usman Shugaba’s was then had arrested by Buhari’s chief security officer and Yusuf for firing gunshots while attempting to apprehend Yusuf.

Meanwhile, the First Lady has been AWOL on Twitter as well as her last tweet was on October 18th 2020 followed by a retweet on November 25th 2020. She has since ghosted on the bird app.

At the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation or denouncement of the report from the presidency neither has there been an update or official information about the First Lady departure to the UAE.
