Nigerian businessman and oil mogul Simon Guobadia has suffered a major financial blow in his divorce battle with American reality TV star Porsha Williams, as a court has awarded her the multimillion-dollar Atlanta mansion they once shared.
According to court documents, Guobadia transferred his interest in the property through a quitclaim deed, effectively handing over ownership of the home to his ex-wife. The 61-year-old entrepreneur, who founded SIMCOL Petroleum Limited Company in 2010, also agreed to pay Williams $1,568,181.63 in reimbursement from his share of the property’s equity.
In addition to the mansion and cash settlement, Guobadia was ordered to give Williams the title to a 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost. The settlement terms were confirmed under oath during an August 5 hearing, with both parties telling the judge the agreement resolved all remaining issues.
The former couple married in November 2022 during a traditional Nigerian native law and custom ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta, followed by an American ceremony the next day. However, Williams filed for divorce in February 2024 after just 15 months of marriage.
Guobadia, who was born in Nigeria in 1964, has a net worth estimated at $40 million. He founded his petroleum company in 2007, which supplies ultra-low sulfur diesel and gasoline across the southeastern United States. He has also ventured into film production, serving as executive producer on movies including Son of the South, which he worked on with Academy Award winner Spike Lee.
The divorce battle has been particularly challenging for Guobadia, who was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in February 2025 and subsequently deported to Nigeria in June 2025 after living in the United States for about 40 years. Following his deportation, the serial entrepreneur declared that at 61, he feels like he’s just getting started, and has been seen attending high-profile social events in Lagos, including the traditional wedding of Surayya Danjuma, daughter of Lt. Gen. TY Danjuma.
Guobadia, who has five biological children, has been married at least four times. His previous marriage was to Falynn Guobadia, who was also a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
