Nigerian army arrests notorious armed bandit, see what he was caught with (photos)

Troops of the Nigerian Army over the weekend arrested a notorious cattle rustler named Isah Fulani at Mararrabar Jos, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, this is according to the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman.

Col. Usman stated this in a statement he sent to newsmen on Monday, adding that the arrest was made during operations aimed at dealing with the menace of livestock rustling, armed banditry and other forms of criminality in Kaduna and Zamfara States.

Narrating the success recorded by the Nigerian troops in the last few days, the Army PRO said other bandits were also arrested, bandits camps cleared and many livestocks recovered in Kaduna and Zamfara States.

Col Usman stated further that during a fierce exchange of gunfire that the troops also killed the leader of armed banditry gang called Guruguru Magaji at Tashar Nakau, Ikara Local Government Area.

He informed that the troops recovered a Revolver Pistol and 6 locally fabricated 9mm rounds of ammunition from him.

In the same vein, the troops at Anchau, Kubau Local Government Area, Kaduna State also arrested 2 impersonators that paraded themselves as members of a non-existent vigilante group harassing and extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public in the area.

The suspects, Mallam Hamza Hare and Mallam Sani Abdul-Aziz also posed as liaison officers to security officers duping people.

Similarly,  Col. Usman stated that a notorious armed bandit that terrorized motorists and passengers along the road that linked Kaduna and Katsina States through Birnin Gwari-Funtua, was also arreste.

He said the armed bandit, named Mohammed is also popularly known as “Abedariwa” and was arrested in Birnin Gwari town.

“Apart from confessing and giving graphic details of his deadly acts, the bandit promised to cooperate fully with the military to fish out other criminal elements in the society,” Col. Usman stated.

The Army spokesperson added that the troops in Zamfara State on Sunday raided and cleared 2 armed bandits camp at Dumburum forest general area, Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

He said among things recovered were 209 cows, 1062 goats and sheep.
