A Nigerian-American singer, Collins Obinna Chibueze, known as Shaboozey,, has made headlines by reaching the number one spot on the US Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

His track ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ has knocked Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ off the top spot, making history as the first time two Black artists consecutively lead the chart.

Chart Data, an American music statistics company, confirmed the news with a tweet: “Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ rises to #1 on this week’s Hot Country Songs chart, replacing @Beyonce’s ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’.”

Shaboozey’s recent collaboration with Beyoncé on two tracks from her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, has further cemented his position in the country music scene.
