Nigerians on Twitter have attacked Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation for inciting violence by ordering civil disobedience because election results do not favour Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Nigerians did not mince words as they called out Fani-Kayode while reminding him that he is part of the problems of Nigeria.

Many pointed out that his inciteful words are a treasonable offence and capable of causing civil unrest in a fragile democracy like Nigeria.

Some also called Fani-Kayode an “unqualified” lawyer who has become quite known for his uncouth comments on Twitter and Facebook.

WuzupNaija reports that Fani Kayode who is a staunch Buhari critic had accused the federal government of rigging the presidential election.

The controversial social commentator advised Atiku to form a “Govt and order civil disobedience throughout the nation adding that the country is finished.

“The election was a charade! @atiku should now brace up to defend the choice of millions of Nigerians who risked their lives on Saturday, defied tyranny and oppression and spoke through the ballot! He must reject the results and give the FG an ultimatum to declare the authentic…

“…results, failure of which he will form a Govt. and order civil disobedience throughout the nation! If this charade is allowed to stand, the country is finished! Then the authentic results collated by PDP from the 119,000 PUs must be released to the public and the int. community, FFK tweeted.

Meanwhile, the offence of Treason is a capital offence which is defined by section 37(1) of the Criminal Code Act as follows;

a. Any person who levies war against the state, in order to intimidate or overawe the president or the governor of a state is guilty of treason and is liable to the punishment of death.

b.Any person conspiring with any person, either within or without Nigeria, to levy war against the state with the intent to cause such leving of war as would be treason if committed by a citizen of Nigeria, is guilty of treason and is liable to the punishment of death.
