Ghana shatter Nigeria’s World Cup dream after 1-1 draw

The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after holding the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.
Recall that the Black Stars held Nigeria to a goalless draw in Friday’s match at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Arsenal’s Thomas Partey netted a 10th-minute opener to give the Black Stars the all-important away goal at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Watford defender, Troost-Ekong, scored a penalty in the 22nd minute to draw level Nigeria level.
Nigeria missed out on the qualification based on FIFA’s away-goal rule as Augustine Eguavoen’s men failed to score in the second half.
