The federal government has announced plans to hold the first-ever Nigeria International Airshow in Lagos next year.
The Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, revealed this on Thursday during a press conference in Abuja.
Keyamo said the airshow will bring together visionaries, industry experts, and pioneers to explore new opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation sector. “Our aspiration is clear: to position Nigeria as a central hub for aviation in Africa, one that will attract investment, foster partnerships, and drive sustainable development across the continent,” he stated.
He described the event as “groundbreaking” and added, “This groundbreaking event is the first of its kind in our nation, and it signifies a bold step forward—a new era for Nigeria and African aviation.”
An international airshow typically features aircraft displays and aerobatic performances, attracting industry players from around the world for trade, networking, and promoting international relations.
