Nigeria records 21 new COVID-19 deaths- NCDC
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed that at least 21 new deaths relating to the deadly COVID-19 were recorded on Tuesday.
This was made known by the NCDC on its official website during the early hours of Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
According to the NCDC during the daily update of February 9th, the country recorded a total of 1056 new cases of the deadly virus in 22 states.
“On the 9th of February 2021, 1056 new confirmed cases and 21 deaths were recorded in Nigeria,” the NCDC revealed.
The statement added that “till date, 141447 cases have been confirmed, 115755 cases have been discharged and 1694 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
Lagos State which is the epicentre of the pandemic in the country recorded a total of 214 new cases on Tuesday, taking its total tally to 51,985 infections.
A breakdown of the 1056 new cases from 22 states- Lagos (214), Osun (120), FCT (116), Plateau (88), Ebonyi (75), Kwara (73), Gombe (70), Ondo (57), Rivers (47), Akwa Ibom (38), Edo (25), Oyo (23), Kano (22), Delta (19) Katsina (18), Borno (16), Nasarawa (13), Ekiti (8), Ogun (8), Bauchi (4), Benue(1) and Jigawa (1).

The NCDC added that a “multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
