Cameroon’s performance at the just concluded African Cup Of Nation (AFCON) has paid off. They moved up significantly on the new FIFA ranking
The AFCON champions were ranked 33rd in the world moving 29 steps up while it now occupies third position in Africa. Nations Cup quarter-finalists Senegal, the top African side last month, are second in Africa and 31st overall.
First runners up, Egypt, maintained its highest ranking as the number one on the African continent 23rd in the world.
Meanwhile, Nigeria are been placed 41st in the world and seventh in Africa. Despite missing the 2017 AFCON, Nigeria’s ranking showed significant improvement from the the January edition where they were ranked 50.
Argentina is number one on the table while Brazil and Germany are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
