Niger Republic repatriates 310 Nigerians

The Niger Republic has repatriated 310 Nigerians who were received by the National Emergency Management Agency on Monday in Kano.

NEMA, in partnership with the International Organisation for Migration and the National Refugee Commission, welcomed the returnees at the Immigration Training School in Kano at 10:10 p.m.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, NEMA confirmed the development.

“The National Emergency Management Agency, Kano Territorial Office, participated in the reception of 310 returnees alongside the International Organisation for Migration and the National Refugee Commission,” the statement said.

The returnees included 98 adult women, 41 adult men, 85 male children, and 86 female children.

Efforts are ongoing to ensure that the returnees are supported and reintegrated into their communities.
