American rapper Nicki Minaj has issued a heartfelt prayer as insecurity and kidnappings continue to escalate in Nigeria.

The artiste, in a post shared on Sunday, November 23, called on God to intervene and rescue victims held by bandits.

“Dear God, release your immediate intervention in this matter. Rescue the hostages & may the peace that surpasses all understanding fall upon their families right now. Lord, we know your power. With faith & thanksgiving in advance, we claim the victory. In the mighty name of JESUS,” Nicki Minaj wrote.

Her prayer came in response to an appeal by Pope Francis, who urged the immediate release of priests, students, and other individuals abducted in Nigeria and Cameroon amid a surge in kidnappings across both countries.

In a video message, the pontiff described the worsening situation as “a source of great pain,” noting the suffering endured by the young men and women taken, as well as the anguish faced by their families.
