What parent wouldn’t be proud of the ‘Okonjo Sisters’ at this moment?
I know that my father would be more than proud if I were to be an Okonjo right now, I doubt he’d even mind if I were to opt to be adopted by any member of that family if that were an option though.
Please allow me to praise the parents who raised children that are globally recognized, and also their children who worked hard and ever so tirelessly to get where they are today.
You might be wondering what is wrong with me, well, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has taken to her Twitter handle to proudly praise her sister, Dr Njide Okonjo-Udochi, who recently became the first black female to emerge ‘Physician of the Year’ in the United States of America.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s congratulatory tweet to her sister reads:
“Congratulations Dr Njideka Udochi, Maryland’s Family Physician Of The Year. Thank you for your care of COVID-19 patients and for saving so many lives. Proud of you my sister.”
