US court to decide Hushpuppi’s fate on Valentines Day
Popular social media celebrity Ramon Abass Olorunwa, aka Hushpuppi will be sentenced on valentines day.
The U.S. Department of Justice has said, according to the BBC.
The spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney Office, Central District of California, USA, Thom Mrozek, confirmed the report.
“The court has scheduled Mr. Abbas’ sentencing for February 14,” Mrozek said.
WuzupNigeria had reported that Hushpuppi faces 20 years jail term in the United States for criminal charges relating to laundering of hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise frauds and other scams.
“If convicted of conspiracy to engage in money laundering, Abbas would face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison,” the US Department of Justice said in a statement in July 2020.
