The first Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission, Professor Muhammad Gidado Tahir, has passed away.
Tahir who was the Chairman, Board of the National Commission for Nomadic Education died aged 72.
According to Daily Trust, Tahir passed away on Wednesday night.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of death has not been made public.
The septuagenarian retired as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Abuja
Born on December, 29th, 1949, in Toungo town, in Adamawa State, Tahir also lectured at the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.
He is survived by his wife, Hajiya Asma’u, children and grandchildren.
