A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has stated that the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is the most influential Nigerian.

Omokri’s comment on Twitter comes in reaction to the former Minister of Finance’s inclusion in American news magazine and news website, TIME Magazine’s world’s most influential people.

The Nigerian-American economist, graced the cover of the ‘leaders’ category and she was honoured with a piece written by the Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Congratulations to my dear friend, @NOIweala , for once again making the @TIME Magazine 100 most influential people of 2021. Not only did Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala make the list, she is also on the cover of the latest issue of Time. My family and I are proud of you,” Omokri wrote.

In a subsequent tweet to his 990.3 thousand followers, Omokri added, “Someone said @NOIweala is the most influential Igbo woman. That is the height of ignorance. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is not the most influential Igbo woman. She is also not the most influential Nigerian woman. She is the most influential Nigerian. Full stop!”
