There is an age long myth that January, arguably the longest month of the year for workers, comes with mood swing and bedroom doldrums.
To clear out the cobwebs and spice up some fun, a UK-based sex and relationship therapist, Ness Cooper, has recommended an innovative idea.
Although it sounds weird, depending on which part of the divide one falls, the sexpert suggested ‘masturbating every single day in January’ to bring back the spark.
Cooper told UK SUN that a month of masturbation could help to lighten the load of the usual January blues.
‘I think what’s most important is to focus on spending time with yourself and get to know your body. If you’re not someone who masturbates every day, start off using a combination of mindfulness and basic touch.
‘Get yourself in a relaxed state and become aware of the sensations going through your body. Try not to focus on your body being sexual at first and once you’re aware of touch and how things feel you will become more relaxed into it and become more sexually aware.
‘Think of it as a form of solo foreplay. People always think of foreplay as a couple’s activity but we should be doing it by ourselves as well,’ she said.
The sexologist disclosed that the focus is not all about orgasm, but the innate desire to spend some time enjoying one’s quiet moment.
