PHOTOS: Farouk Yahaya presides over security briefing with GOCs, others
Nigeria’s newly installed Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya, has presided over his maiden security briefing with some top officials in the army.
WUZUPNIGERIA reported that Yahaya became the country’s 22nd CoAS after he recently replaced that late Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash.
In attendance at the briefing on Monday were the General Officers Commanding, field Commanders and other frontline Officers.
While discussing some of his present challenges, Yahaya pledged to bolster the morale of the army in its fight against insurgency and insecurity across the country.
Yahaya promised to leave the setback behind them as he plans to lead the army to victory in all the ongoing operations across the country.
The new CoAS however noted that the Army needs to rise up to its responsibilities.
