PHOTOS: Okonjo-Iweala receives honorary doctorate degree from Italian varsity

The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Liuss University in Rome, Italy.

Okonjo-Iweala who bagged her first degree in Economics at Havard University shared the news with her Twitter followers on Friday.

It comes a day after she announced that her son, Dr. Uchechi Iweala became one of the first spinal surgeons to perform a successful navigated lumbar spinal fusion using a robot in the United States.

According to the former Nigerian Minister of Finance, the institution awarded her with the honorary doctorate degree in Politics.

“So honoured to have been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree today in Politics by Luiss University @UniLUISS, Rome, Italy.

“A wonderful graduate institution with a global reach, educating students to solve problems of today and be prepared for those of tomorrow,” Okonjo-Iweala said.
