Obaseki defies court order, insists on vaccination directive
In defiance of the recent order by a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday reiterated that his government’s directive on no access to public places without vaccination still stands.
Obaseki further threatened to impose lockdown if residents failed to follow the directive and comply with COVID-19 protocols to halt the spread of the Delta variant of the pandemic.
The governor made the declaration in a statement issued by his media team on Wednesday.
Earlier WuzupNigeria had reported how the state government made it compulsory for residents to take the COVID-19 vaccine and present proof before accessing public places from the second week of September.
