Hajiya Zainab Marwa, the first wife of the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd.), has died.
The PUNCH reported that Hajiya Marwa passed away early on Saturday after a brief illness.
She was 66 years of age at the time of death.
Hajiya Marwa's death was confirmed via a statement released by the family on Saturday.
The 66-year-old is survived by four adult children: Abubakar, Mohamed Jr, Mariam and Zainab, and 10 grandchildren as well as her siblings and aged mother.
She will be remembered for championing the cause of women and the girl child.
Hajiya Marwa's burial arrangement will be announced at a later date by the family, the statement added.
