Kalu mourns Abia founding father Anagha Ezikpe

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Kalu, has commiserated with the government and people of Abia over the death of elder statesman, Ezeogo Anagha Ezikpe.

Ezikpe also one of the founding fathers of Abia died on Christmas Day after he slumped during a meeting of Abia Elders Advisory Council.

He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where he was later pronounced dead.

Until his death, Dr Ezikpe was the Chairman, Abia Elders Advisory Council and a renowned medical doctor.

Kalu, in a condolence message on Wednesday in Abuja, described the death of Dr Ezikpe as a big loss to Abia.

According to the former Abia governor, the deceased lived a purposeful life.

While conveying his heartfelt condolences to the Ezikpe family, Kalu prayed to God to repose the soul of the deceased.

“I received with sadness the news of the passing of a prominent stakeholder in Abia, Ezeogo Dr. Anagha Ezikpe.

“He played notable roles in the development of Abia state.

“The late statesman lived a fulfilled life and left behind good children to sustain his worthy deeds.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ezikpe family during this period of mourning,” the Senate Chief Whip said.

Born February 2, 1930, Ezeogo Anagha Ezikpe was one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia.

Kalu prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
