JUST IN: Prince Charles tests positive for COVID

Charles, Prince of Wales, has tested positive for COVID-19, the Royal Family has confirmed on Thursday.

Charles tested positive after attending a black tie reception at the British Museum on Wednesday night with the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.

In a statement, Clarence House spokesperson said: “This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

“HRH is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today’s events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible.”

It is unknown if he was already infected before attending the ceremony, where he teamed up with a hots of other dignitaries to celebrate the work of the British Asian Trust.

The Prince will be expected to self-isolate until he recovers.

Local media reports that Charles was due to unveil a statue of Licoricia of Winchester today before attending a civic reception at The Great Hall.
