JUST IN: Police arrest Sowore at Nnamdi Kanu’s trial in Abuja
Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force at the Federal High Court Abuja as the court resumed the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The PUNCH reported that the 'Buhari-must-go' activist was picked up on the court premises during a Facebook Live session on Monday morning.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the Department of State Services, whose operatives and police were heavily present at the court on Monday, had barred some media organisations, from covering the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.
Recall that Kanu, who was earlier extradited into Nigeria from Kenya, is facing terrorism-related charges before Justice Binta Nyako.
The Organisations barred include The PUNCH, The Guardian, Vanguard, Daily Trust, Tribune, Daily Sun, The Cable, and Daily Times, among others. Sowore's Sahara Reporters was also barred.
Those accredited by the DSS are Daily Post, ThisDay, Premium Times, The Nation, Daily Independent, The Herald, National Television Authority, Television Continental, African Independent Television, and Channels Television.
