Male federal workers will be permitted to spend at least two weeks paternity leave after welcoming a newborn baby.
The approval was granted by the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, according to the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.
She made the disclosure to State House correspondents after the week’s virtual FEC meeting presided over by Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Yemi-Esan also added that the same gesture has been extended to fathers of adopted babies of less than four months.
The leave will enable fathers to properly bond with their newborn baby, either natural-born or adopted.
