Celine Dion postpones November's Las Vegas concerts for medical reasons

Weeks before kick off, Canadian music icon, Celine Dion, says she has been compelled to delay her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to medical reasons.

The 53-year-old songbird was due to begin her series of concerts in the new Resorts World Theatre next month.

However, a heartbroken Dion has had to cancel the performances scheduled November 5 to 20, 2021 and January 19 to February 5, 2022.

She explained her predicament in a statement shared on Instagram.

She said: ‘I’m heartbroken by this. My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and to not be able to open this November saddens me beyond words.

‘My partners at Resorts World Las Vegas and AEG have been working around the clock to get this brand-new state-of-the-art theatre ready, and it’s absolutely beautiful.’

She continued: ‘I feel so bad that I’m letting them down, and I’m especially sorry for disappointing all the fans who’ve been making their plans to come to Las Vegas. Now, I have to focus on getting better… I want to get through this as soon as I can.’

The 'My heart will gon' crooner has been experiencing severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing.

Reports say her medical team will continue to evaluate and treat her as she attempts to recover.

This is just as her media team has revealed that tickets procured with a credit card through authorised ticketing outlets at axs.com or Resorts World Las Vegas will be refunded automatically.

It has also been confirmed that ticket holders of the canceled performances will receive a pre-sale opportunity for first access when new show dates are announced.
