The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has invited members of the Senate to the Presidential Villa to a dinner today (Tuesday) by 8 pm.
Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, read the President’s letter on the floor of the Senate at the commencement of plenary.
He urged his colleagues to arrive at the Senate early enough so that they can move down to the Villa around 7pm.
Meanwhile, the President, also on Tuesday, forwarded the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure and Fiscal Strategy Paper for the consideration of the lawmakers, The PUNCH reports.
The Senate subsequently suspended its Order one to enable the chamber to consider the request before the Parliament’s annual vacation.
The Senate President, therefore, referred the communication to the Committee on Finance for necessary legislative action.
“I write to inform the Distinguished President of the Senate, that President Muhammadu Buhari will host a dinner of Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday, 13th July, 2021, at 8pm 20:00 hrs.
“The venue is at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja,” the invitation letter for the scheduled meeting between the President and members of the upper chamber read.
