[JUST IN] 2023: Osinbajo officially declares for presidency
Vice President Yemi Osibanjo (SAN) has finally declared his intentions to contents in the 2023 presidential election on Monday.
Osinbajo had on Sunday hosted 12 APC governors including Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Babagana Zulum (Borno) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), to inform them of his intentions at the Presidential Villa.
However, in a declaration video released on social media this morning, Osinbajo announced his intentions to succeed The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
His tenure as the vice president will end in about 13 months having spent about seven out of eight years in the number two position.
“I am today, with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC,” he said.
