Video streaming platform Netflix has increased its subscription prices in Nigeria once more.

The Premium Plan has risen by 40%, now costing ₦7,000 per month, up from ₦5,000.

This is the second time Netflix has raised its prices in Nigeria within the last three months. The first increase occurred in April this year.

According to the updated prices on Netflix’s website, the Standard Plan, which is popular for its HD quality and multi-screen options, has gone up from ₦4,000 to ₦5,500. This is a 37.5% increase.

In April, Netflix had already increased the Premium Plan price from ₦4,400 to ₦5,000. At that time, the Basic Plan remained at ₦2,900, and the Standard Plan had been raised from ₦3,600 to ₦4,000.

Netflix had announced earlier this year that it would be adjusting prices in various regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. The company said these changes were part of a strategy to boost revenue and support the growth of its content offerings.

A Netflix spokesperson explained, “The price adjustments are aimed at accelerating our revenue and earnings growth. We regularly review our subscription fees to support the expansion of our content.”

This latest price increase marks the second adjustment in Nigeria within a short period.
