The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has warned students against applying for student loans through fake portals and websites.

In a statement on Saturday, the Director of Corporate Communications at NELFUND, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, cautioned that some fraudulent platforms are posing as the official website of the Fund to deceive students.

“The Nigerian Education Loan Fund wishes to reiterate that the ONLY official portal for student loan applications is www.nelf.gov.ng,” Oluwatuyi said.

He urged students and the public to ignore any other links, websites, or messages claiming to offer access to the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme, stressing that these unauthorized platforms should not be trusted.

“Students and the public are advised to disregard any other links, websites, or messages claiming to offer access to the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme. Any platform other than www.nelf.gov.ng is unauthorized and should not be trusted,” he added.

Oluwatuyi assured that NELFUND remains dedicated to ensuring that eligible Nigerian students can access financial support through a transparent and secure process.

“NELFUND remains committed to ensuring that eligible Nigerian students have access to financial support through a transparent and secure process. For verified updates and official information, always visit www.nelf.gov.ng or follow our verified social media handles,” he stated.

The Fund urged students to be vigilant and always confirm the authenticity of any loan application platform to avoid falling victim to scammers.
