Popular Nigerian media personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, better known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his resignation from The Honest Bunch podcast following intense public scrutiny and allegations surrounding a recent episode.

His decision comes in the wake of a heated controversy triggered by comedian and reality TV star Deeone, who alleged during a recent episode that social media critic, VeryDarkMan was attracted to men.

The claim sparked a dramatic exchange between both parties, with VDM accusing Nedu of persistently inviting him to the podcast since 2024 and even allegedly offering him a car as an incentive.

VDM further insinuated that Deeone’s allegations were linked to Nedu’s repeated attempts to have him on the show.

He subsequently issued a stern warning to Nedu, demanding that he cease all communication and threatening legal action through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

He also hinted at exposing alleged dealings involving female celebrities if the controversy continued.

Amidst the escalating tensions, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to announce his decision to step down from The Honest Bunch.

In his statement, he acknowledged that while the podcast had been an “incredible journey” of open conversations and bold discussions, the backlash and unfounded accusations had taken a personal toll.

“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics. But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll,” Nedu wrote.

He explained that the decision to leave was necessary for his peace of mind, his family’s well-being, and to protect the integrity of the podcast.

“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself. I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when those conversations lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward.”

Despite his exit, Nedu expressed optimism about the podcast’s future, wishing the platform continued success.

“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision,” he concluded.
