Senator Ned Nwoko has issued a response through his team to allegations recently raised by his wife, Regina Daniels, providing what was described as a comprehensive narrative of events.

The account includes references to a WhatsApp message dated October 17, alongside mentions of medical documentation and therapy records.

In a statement released on Sunday by the Senator Ned Nwoko Communication Team, the lawmaker rejected accusations of domestic abuse, characterising them as a deliberate effort to divert attention from what the team described as persistent health and behavioural issues.

The statement further claimed that independent toxicology tests revealed the alleged presence and misuse of several substances, which the team said aligned with concerns that had been privately expressed months before the matter entered the public domain.

According to the communication team, professional interventions — including therapy and structured rehabilitation — had been arranged and repeatedly recommended long before the disagreement became public knowledge.

“The October message reflects frustration and a final attempt to insist on sustained professional help, either through continued therapy or structured rehabilitation,” the statement said.

The team maintained that the senator’s actions were driven by worries over declining health, risky conduct, and the safety of the children. It added that financial restrictions introduced during the period were intended to prevent what it described as the continuation of a harmful lifestyle, rather than serving as a form of punishment.

It also alleged that Regina’s decision to make the matter public represented a departure from private efforts at resolution, describing the move as an embrace of “public victimhood” aimed at evading long-term treatment while garnering public sympathy.

“The October 17 message stands as a factual anchor,” the statement said, stressing that it was written before any public scrutiny, legal action, or reputational concerns. The team insisted the content of the message demonstrated care, boundary-setting, and a demand for treatment, rather than any form of violence.

The communication team further stated that materials such as medical reports, statements from staff, therapy documentation, and contemporaneous messages substantiate the senator’s account and contradict allegations of domestic abuse.

The statement concluded by saying that Senator Nwoko remains prepared to address all claims raised by Regina in her videos and writings, including allegations concerning age differences and infidelity.
