Billionaire businessman and husband of actress Regina Daniels, Senator Ned Nwoko has denied rumors that he has welcomed a child with Nollywood actress Chika Ike or plans to marry her as his seventh wife.
In an official statement on X, Nwoko’s Director of Communications dismissed the claims as false and baseless, calling them “a product of malicious speculation.”
The statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him. We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless.”
It also addressed reports that Nwoko made comments about musician Tuface and polygamy, saying those claims were also untrue.
The statement further explained that as a public figure and husband to an actress, Nwoko often faces fabricated stories from bloggers seeking attention.
“Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate, and has no time for distractions. This office remains available to journalists for verification of information, and we remind media practitioners of the consequences of spreading fake news,” the statement added.
The rumors started after Regina Daniels, Nwoko’s wife, deactivated her Instagram account. This fueled speculation that there was trouble in their marriage.
Regina, who recently returned from London after attending the premiere of The Waiter, had not posted anything about her husband’s political activities, including his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress . Observers also noticed that she had stopped engaging with his social media updates.
Adding to the gossip, Chika Ike recently announced her pregnancy with maternity photos. Online sources claimed she had given birth to a child allegedly fathered by Nwoko and might move into his mansion.
Despite the widespread rumors, Nwoko’s statement has made it clear that there is no truth to these claims. The public has been advised to rely only on official information from his office.
